BruinGains Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Overview

BruinGains helps UCLA students view dining and fitness information, log meals, and track nutrition and workout goals. This version of the app is designed to keep your personal logs and preferences stored locally on your device.

Information stored on your device

BruinGains stores your profile, meals, workouts, templates, goals, onboarding status, and preferences locally on your device using local app storage.

In this version of the app, your private meal logs, workout logs, templates, and goal history are not intentionally uploaded to BruinGains servers.

Public campus data requests

BruinGains uses Appwrite-hosted services to deliver public dining menus, dining hall metadata, gym locations, and gym capacity snapshots.

When the app refreshes public campus data, technical request information such as an anonymous session token, IP address, and request timestamps may be processed for authentication, abuse prevention, rate limiting, security, and service operations.

Analytics and advertising

BruinGains does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics SDKs in this version of the app.

Data retention and deletion

You can remove your locally stored BruinGains data at any time from the app’s settings and compliance options. Limited server-side operational logs related to public data delivery may be retained for security and reliability purposes.

Third-party and public data sources

Dining and gym information shown in BruinGains may rely on public or third-party sources and may change without notice. BruinGains is not affiliated with or endorsed by UCLA.
